FIU Obesity Research Workgroup
The FIU Obesity Research Workgroup is a group of researchers at FIU aimed at optimizing opportunities to conduct interdisciplinary obesity-related research through increased awareness, education, and collaboration. The group’s primary goal is to promote interdisciplinary collaborations at FIU, develop innovative research proposals, and create a research Center to further high-impact translational work in our area.
Mission
The FIU Obesity Research Workgroup unites researchers across disciplines to advance understanding, prevention, and treatment of obesity. Through awareness, education, and collaboration within FIU and with partners across Florida, we develop innovative, high-impact research that improves health outcomes and reduces obesity-related disparities.
Vision
Establish FIU as a recognized leader in multidisciplinary obesity research and education by creating an Obesity Research Center that promotes cutting-edge translational science, cultivates statewide collaborations, and contributes to sustainable solutions for obesity and related health challenges.
